A college student, played by Amane Okayama, and his wacky friends... Aoi Morikawa as a part-time worker and Kenichi Takito as the store manager! --The miraculous bookstore Village Vanguard, a.k.a. Villeurban, was born in Nagoya, Japan. The "bookstore" boasts more than 350 stores nationwide. But there are no bestsellers or new publications. There are piles of books on billiard tables and fancy foreign cars. Mysterious miscellaneous goods are placed next to books of various genres collected by the manager's hobby, such as cars, jazz, outdoors, and movies. The unique store clerks, who happily display unintelligible pop-ups, no longer know if they are there for fun or for work. But it's the funniest of all! Sugishita Keizo, a self-proclaimed "empty" college student, has a shocking encounter at the Village Vanguard. A store overflowing with junk with no regard for profits, a manager who is always missing, and odd part-time workers who are far removed from the norm...but there was "everything" he needed in his life...This is a story of a young man and his friends, and the crazy and exciting days of their youth. Some of the music used in the film is different from that used in the TV broadcast.

There are 6 region codes. Typically, DVD players sold in one region is compatible only with DVD titles that are encoded for that region.

Such titles are indicated as "Format: HD DVD Twin Format" in item details page. *We'll add accurate information on regional encoding as they become available, but for the time-being, please assume that HD DVD titles available at CDJapan are encoded for Region-2.

Blu-ray

Blu-ray titles are playable only on Blu-ray players. They are not playable on conventional DVD players or HD DVD players. There are 3 region codes for Blu-rays as listed below, which are different from DVD region codes.

SACD (Super Audio CD)
