Description

[Machine Translation] ["Toei The Classic" Series #24] An unknown girl moves from Hokkaido to Tokyo, dreaming of becoming a singer. An unknown girl lives cheerfully toward the hope of tomorrow in this cheerful drama of youth, filled with lively songs, love, and friendship. This film commemorates the 10th anniversary of Misora Hibari, who made her debut at the age of 11 in the postwar entertainment industry and became popular all over Japan. The film features a star-studded cast including Ken Takakura. Directed by master filmmaker Yasushi Sasaki, who has worked on the largest number of Hibari Misora films in the past. --Sayuri Mihara, a young girl living on a farm in Hokkaido, dreams of becoming a singer. She moves to Tokyo by herself to pursue this dream and asks for an apprenticeship with a composer named Tsukimura, but Tsukimura is in the midst of a disappointment. However, he was in the midst of a disappointment. Still, Sayuri forced her way into his home and devoted herself to taking care of him and working part-time. Eventually, Sayuri becomes friends with the Akebono Band, a group of amateur musicians in town, and they become very popular with everyone. Then she meets a professional musician, a young band master named Joji. Love begins to grow between the two of them... Sayuri devotes herself to lessons under Mr. Tsukimura, and performs with the Akebono Band in a singing show on a boat in Tokyo Bay, demonstrating her natural talents.

HD DVD

HD DVDs titles are playable only on HD DVD players. They are not playalbe on conventional DVD players or Blu-ray players. On the other hand, Twin Format disc has a layer that is playable also on conventional DVD players. Blu-ray

Blu-ray titles are playable only on Blu-ray players. They are not playable on conventional DVD players or HD DVD players. There are 3 region codes for Blu-rays as listed below, which are different from DVD region codes.

SACD (Super Audio CD)

SACDs are playable only on SACD players, and will not play on regular CD players. On the other hand, SACD Hybrid disc has a layer that is playable also on regular CD payers. Such titles are indicated as "Format: SACD-Hybrid" in item details page.
