Description

[Machine Translation] In the midst of the Imperial lanterns, a samurai in a white haunted costume! His family name is Tange, but his name is Sazen! --This is the definitive version of "Tange Sazen" starring Kinnosuke Nakamura and directed by Hideo Gosha, based on the novel by Fumo Hayashi, which is considered to be a classic of period drama. The story is about a man named Tange Zamanosuke of the Soma clan who, under the order of his retainer Izumo, kills his close friend Kamijima Kojuro and is himself threatened with death. Meanwhile, a battle with the Guraku clan began over the Yagyu clan's treasure, the "Kokkozaru no Tsubou," which is said to contain a secret treasure worth a million ryo, and the Guraku clan's faction. The sword-wielding Zazen, whose family name is Tange and whose first name is Zazen, uses his beloved sword, Nure-Yamen, to perform the deadly Hiten iai slash to cut down evil in a world of confusion and chaos. HD DVD

HD DVDs titles are playable only on HD DVD players. They are not playalbe on conventional DVD players or Blu-ray players. On the other hand, Twin Format disc has a layer that is playable also on conventional DVD players. Such titles are indicated as "Format: HD DVD Twin Format" in item details page. *We'll add accurate information on regional encoding as they become available, but for the time-being, please assume that HD DVD titles available at CDJapan are encoded for Region-2.

Blu-ray

Blu-ray titles are playable only on Blu-ray players. They are not playable on conventional DVD players or HD DVD players. There are 3 region codes for Blu-rays as listed below, which are different from DVD region codes.

SACD (Super Audio CD)

SACDs are playable only on SACD players, and will not play on regular CD players. On the other hand, SACD Hybrid disc has a layer that is playable also on regular CD payers. Such titles are indicated as "Format: SACD-Hybrid" in item details page.
