Set in postwar Okinawa before it was returned to Japan, this legendary feature film depicting the anguish, anger, and passionate struggle of the people and workers who were deprived of their homeland is finally available on DVD for the first time! ( Part 1: Not a single tsubo of land shall be given away ) Okinawa, 1945: Saburo Shimabukuro, who lost his land to the U.S., is rummaging for U.S. military supplies in the area around the base. Stealing Uchinanchu's goods is stealing, but stealing Americana's goods is war achievement! ' This was Saburo's philosophy of life. During the rapid expansion of the U.S. military base, Tomoko Tamanaha's grandmother was shot dead by a fighter plane's machine gun. Local farmers formed a protest line against the U.S. military, which did not provide any compensation. Soon after, the farmers' struggle spread to the entire Okinawa region. (Ten years later, the U.S. entered the Vietnam War and launched B-52 bombers from bases in Okinawa. As the war intensified, the working conditions for the base workers became even harsher. As arrests and dismissals continue, Tomoko's younger brother Wataru is hit by an American military truck and dies instantly. There are 6 region codes. Typically, DVD players sold in one region is compatible only with DVD titles that are encoded for that region.

Blu-ray

Blu-ray titles are playable only on Blu-ray players. They are not playable on conventional DVD players or HD DVD players. There are 3 region codes for Blu-rays as listed below, which are different from DVD region codes.
