Description

[Machine Translation] [Happy the Best!"] The true history of the struggle for human dignity is realistically projected by director Spielberg. The angry cry of "GIVE US FREE" from those who were enslaved simply because of the color of their skin is a moving drama that pierces deeply into the hearts of the viewers. --This is Steven Spielberg's first film for DreamWorks Studios. The film was critically acclaimed for its star-studded cast and its perfection, and was nominated for four Academy Awards (R): Best Supporting Actor (Anthony Hopkins), Best Music, Best Costume Design, and Best Cinematography. Based on a true story, the film depicts the ordeal of Africans captured as slaves, their voyage on a slave ship, the rebellion on board, and their attempts to return to their beloved homeland. The rebels on the captured Amistad are brought to the U.S. as prisoners of war, charged with murder, and left to await their fate in prison. But this triggered a heated battle that tested the nature of American justice. And for the Africans who appeared in court, it was nothing more than a struggle for the basic human right of "freedom.

Blu-ray

Blu-ray titles are playable only on Blu-ray players. They are not playable on conventional DVD players or HD DVD players. There are 3 region codes for Blu-rays as listed below, which are different from DVD region codes.
