Director Kozaburo Yoshimura and cinematographer Kazuo Miyagawa teamed up to vividly depict the heroine's psychology. Tanaka Sumie adapted the original novel by Sawano Hisao, which was nominated for the Akutagawa Prize. Fujiko Yamamoto gives a brilliant performance as a Kyoto woman torn between work and love. --The film is based on a novel by Hisao Sawano, which was nominated for a prize at the Kyoto International Film Festival. The store of Funaki Yujiro, who calls himself "Maruyoshi," is also located there. The shop was owned by Yujiro Funaki, who called himself "Maruyoshi." The shop was run by his eldest daughter, Kiwa, who was now the head of the family and devoted herself to wax-dyeing. There are 6 region codes. Typically, DVD players sold in one region is compatible only with DVD titles that are encoded for that region.

Blu-ray

Blu-ray titles are playable only on Blu-ray players. They are not playable on conventional DVD players or HD DVD players. There are 3 region codes for Blu-rays as listed below, which are different from DVD region codes.
