Description

[Machine Translation] [The first stand-alone release of "Sora Yukaba" from "Cloud Grave Marker" included in "Shochiku Senso Eiga no Kiseki" DVD-BOX, released on July 29, 2015. This is the film adaptation of the unique literary work "Cloud Grave Marker" by war writer Hiroyuki Agawa, and is directed by Masanao Horiuchi. Adapted jointly by Horiuchi Masanao and Takahashi Osamu, with cinematography by Obara Haruo. The main cast includes Takahiro Tamura, Masami Taura, Fumio Watanabe, Keiko Kishi, Hideko Takamine, Minoru Ohki, Yuji Kawakita, and Eiichi Sugasahara. The film became a topic of conversation for its sincere depiction of the feelings of three student soldiers, including Takahiro Tamura, Masami Taura, and Fumio Watanabe, who abandon their school to join the Navy Special Attack Force. --In 1943, Jiro Yoshino (Takahiro Tamura), Akira Fujikura (Masami Taura), and Tetsuo Sakai (Fumio Watanabe), all alumni from high school to university, joined the Otake Marine Corps as student soldiers, and the following year, after being accepted as reserve students, were assigned to the Koura Naval Air Corps. They underwent basic training under the guidance of Captain Yamada ( Yuji Kawakita ). He was eventually assigned to the Demizu Air Force in Kyushu, where he continued to live in close contact with death. On his way out, Yoshino meets Fukiko ( Keiko Kishi ), the daughter of the Fukai family, who happens to show him her garden. While Sakai tries to reassure her sister ( Takamine Hideko ) by showing her that she can relax, the war situation becomes tense and Saipan is crushed. Captain Mitamura ( Eiichi Sugasahara ) laments the crisis of the war situation. The reserve students also know that they are about to face death, and each of them disposes of their mementos. Soon after he is commissioned as a lieutenant, all of them are organized into a suicide squadron and transferred back to Izumi. Fujikura is disturbed when his senior lieutenant Aizawa ( Tatsuro Nagai ), a military doctor, suggests that he can apply for a medical exemption from flying because of his high blood pressure. Yoshino is reunited with Fukiko and embraces her with a burning desire for life. But the day of the sortie finally arrives, and Sakai is the first to take off. Fujikura and Yoshino return to their rooms after hearing the last transmission from Sakai, and are ordered to go out as well. The two men, who had regained their composure, exchanged a last drink, and disappeared beyond the clouds with Nagano's aircraft in the lead. The original film version is long outdated, and some parts of the video and audio may not be properly reproduced.

[戦後80年-平和への祈願を込めて贈る松竹戦争映画] 2015年7月29日発売『松竹戦争映画の軌跡』DVD-BOXに収められた『「雲の墓標」より空ゆかば』が初の単品化。戦中派作家阿川弘之の異色文学作品「雲の墓標」の映画化で堀内真直が監督する戦記もの。脚色は、堀内真直と高橋治の共同、撮影は小原治夫。主な出演者は田村高廣、田浦正巳、渡辺文雄、岸惠子、高峰秀子、大木実、川喜多雄二、菅佐原英一など。学園を捨てて海軍特別攻撃隊に入る田村高廣や田浦正巳、渡辺文雄等三人の学徒兵の心境を誠実に描いて話題となった。――昭和18年、高校から大学までの同窓吉野次郎 (田村高廣)、藤倉晶 (田浦正巳)、坂井哲夫 (渡辺文雄)の三人は学徒兵として大竹海兵団に入り、翌年には予備学生に合格の上、工浦海軍航空隊行きと決定、山田大尉 (川喜多雄二)の指導で基礎訓練を受ける。やがて九州の出水航空隊付となり、死に接触した生活が続く。外出の際、吉野は偶然庭を見せて貰った深井家の令嬢蕗子 (岸惠子)と知り合う。坂井が一人の姉さん (高峰秀子)に余裕のあるところを見せて安心させようとする中に、戦況は緊迫しサイパンも玉砕。19年冬には三人共、宇佐海軍航空隊付となるが、ここの指導教官野本大尉 (大木実)は彼等と同じ予備学生の出身で何かと一同をいたわってくれる。戦局の危機を慨嘆する三田村大尉 (菅佐原英一)。予備学生達も死との対決が近づいたと知り、それぞれに思い出の品を処分する。程なく小尉任官と同時に全員は特攻隊に編成され再び出水へ転属するが、先輩の相沢軍医中尉 (永井達郎)から、血圧が高いから飛行不適を申請出来ると示唆された藤倉は心乱れる。蕗子と再会し、生への渇望に燃えつつ抱擁を交す吉野。だが遂に出撃の日は来て坂井が先ず飛び立つ。彼からの最後の通信を聞いて自室へ戻った藤倉と吉野の許にも出撃命令。冷静さを坂り戻した二人は最後の酒を汲み交わし、隊長野本機を先頭に雲の彼方へ消えて行った。※フィルム原版が長い年月を経過しており、映像・音声ともに一部お見苦しい箇所がございます。
