Kazuteru Misuna and the Tokyo Cuban Boys, who celebrated their 10th anniversary last year, have completed their long-awaited studio recording! For the first time ever, the current band has recorded a new batch of Latin standards, and the nostalgic yet sophisticated sound is sure to appeal to dance fans as well as core "Cuban" fans. In these days of the big band boom, this is a good sound bible that will appeal to the young next generation. The , which is a reproduction of a rare sound source known only to those in the know, is a must-listen! This is where Latin music in Japan began! The first leader, Naoteru Misago (Tadaaki Misago), formed the group in 1949. The band has had a tremendous influence on the postwar Japanese Latin music and popular music scene, and has reigned as the king of Latin big bands in Japan for more than 30 years. Their unprecedented activities, including not only the popularization of Latin music in Japan, but also overseas performances in Mexico, Cuba, Peru, Panama, and the Soviet Union, as well as their first participation as a big band in an art festival (popular category) organized by the Agency for Cultural Affairs, earned them the Medal with Purple Ribbon in 1976, the Order of Culture from the Republic of Cuba in 1982, and the Order of the Fourth Class in 1983. In 1983, he was awarded the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette by the Japanese government. In 1983, he was awarded the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon by the Japanese government, and in 1980, his brilliant career came to a regrettable end after he had achieved the milestone of releasing more than 300 albums (LP records) in total. Naoteru Misuna also passed away 10 years later. After the breakup of the group, his son Kazuteru Misuna officially announced the reunion of the group in 2005 at the invitation of the Cuban government organization, backed by the enthusiastic support of Cuban fans. Kazuteru Misuna and the Tokyo Cuban Boys were born.

DVD

There are 6 region codes. Typically, DVD players sold in one region is compatible only with DVD titles that are encoded for that region.

HD DVD

HD DVDs titles are playable only on HD DVD players. They are not playalbe on conventional DVD players or Blu-ray players. On the other hand, Twin Format disc has a layer that is playable also on conventional DVD players. Such titles are indicated as "Format: HD DVD Twin Format" in item details page. *We'll add accurate information on regional encoding as they become available, but for the time-being, please assume that HD DVD titles available at CDJapan are encoded for Region-2.

Blu-ray

Blu-ray titles are playable only on Blu-ray players. They are not playable on conventional DVD players or HD DVD players. There are 3 region codes for Blu-rays as listed below, which are different from DVD region codes.
