Who will win the hearts of the audience? --The "Tailor Naoe" in Karasumori, Shinbashi, is not doing well at all because the father, Tsurukichi, is stubborn and old-fashioned. The real estate agent wants to turn the shop into a bar or a drinking establishment. Out of concern, his daughter Mariko remodels the store and opens an onigiri shop, which turns out to be a bonanza. The store has been a huge success since its opening, and Tsurukichi is forced to move upstairs, but he is not too worried about his daughter's fine worthiness. There were three men surrounding the beautiful and spirited Mariko. One is Goro Shirai. He is a childhood friend of Mariko's and directs at a theater in Shinjuku. Kokichi Murata is an apprentice who was previously fired by Tsurukichi, and now works for a manufacturer and uses 20 craftsmen. The other is Sanpei, a young man from the neighborhood. He hangs around every day, but his love for Mariko is quite strong. Mariko says, "All I can think about right now is onigiri (rice balls)," but it seems that she has someone else in mind...

[角川シネマコレクション2017年 11月度: 女優特集] 恋も三角、おにぎりも三角、人に見せない涙の味は、下町娘のいじらしさ! 誰がハートを射止めるやら、豪華青春明朗編! ――新橋の烏森にある"テーラー直江"は、おやじの鶴吉がガンコで昔気質のためにちっともはやらない。生地屋から借金の取り立てがうるさく、不動産屋がバーか飲み屋にしようと狙っていた。見かねた娘のまり子は、店を改造しておにぎり屋を始めるが、これが大当たり。開店以来大繁盛で、鶴吉は2階に追いやられるが、娘の立派な甲斐性に満更でもない。この美人でチャキチャキのまり子をめぐり、3人の男性がいた。ひとりは白井五郎。まり子の幼馴染で、新宿の劇場で演出をしている。村田幸吉は以前鶴吉にクビにされた弟子で、今はメーカーで働いていて職人を二十人も使っている。もう一人は近所の青年・三平。毎日ブラブラしているが、まり子への惚れ方はたいへんなもの。当のまり子は「今はおにぎりしか頭にないわよ」などと言っているが、どうやら意中の人があるらしい・・・。

There are 6 region codes. Typically, DVD players sold in one region is compatible only with DVD titles that are encoded for that region.

Blu-ray

Blu-ray titles are playable only on Blu-ray players. They are not playable on conventional DVD players or HD DVD players. There are 3 region codes for Blu-rays as listed below, which are different from DVD region codes.
