Description

[Machine Translation] Ryoichi Hattori became an exclusive writer for Nippon Columbia in 1936, and adopted elements of jazz, the most advanced pop music of the time, in his popular songs. Hattori's hits included Noriko Awatani's "Farewell Blues," Noboru Kirishima and Hamako Watanabe's "Suzhou Night Song," Shizuko Kasagi's "Tokyo Boogie Woogie," Ichiro Fujiyama and Mitsue Nara's "Blue Mountains," and countless others. Many of these songs have been covered by many artists and continue to shine brightly. This album will contain about 40 songs, mainly works that Ryoichi Hattori selected himself before his death. The liner notes include a biography and explanations of the songs, making this an ideal introduction for new users.

服部良一は1936年に日本コロムビアの専属作家となり、当時最先端のポップスだったジャズの要素を流行歌に採り入れた。服部が送り出したヒット曲は、淡谷のり子「別れのブルース」、霧島昇・渡辺はま子「蘇州夜曲」、笠置シヅ子「東京ブギウギ」、藤山一郎・奈良光枝「青い山脈」など枚挙にいとまがない。それらの名曲の数々は多くのアーティストにもカバーされて今でも親しまれ輝き続けている。今作は服部良一が生前自選した作品を中心に約40曲を収録予定。ライナーノーツにはバイオグラフィーや楽曲解説などを掲載し、新たなユーザーの入門編としても最適。

Blu-ray titles are playable only on Blu-ray players. They are not playable on conventional DVD players or HD DVD players. There are 3 region codes for Blu-rays as listed below, which are different from DVD region codes.
