Description

[Machine Translation] A bullet train is blown up! This is a gigantic panic film that dramatically unfolds the confrontation between the criminal who steadily executes his plan based on precise calculations and the investigative authorities, as well as the various human situations under extreme conditions. This film was released in 1975, and Toei gathered all of its resources to release it. The film features a splendid cast including Ken Takakura, who challenged himself in a new role as the bomber, Shinichi Chiba, Hiromi Tanegawa, Ken Utsui, and many others. This masterpiece of Japanese film history, which was also released in theaters overseas, was a big hit in France, and had a great impact on American cinema as well. --At 9:48 a.m., Shinkansen Hikari 109 bound for Hakata with about 1,500 passengers departed from platform 19 of Tokyo Station on time. As the train approached Sagamihara, a call came in to the Public Safety Headquarters at JNR headquarters that a bomb had been planted on Shinkansen No. 109. The bomb, which had a special ignition device, was said to detonate automatically when the speed slows to 80 km or less. Unable to stop, Hikari runs nonstop from Tokyo to Hakata, a distance of over 1,100 km. Okita, the criminal who is steadily executing his plan with a demand of 5 million dollars based on an elaborate plan, the breathless tactics between Okita and the investigating authorities, and the brain manipulation of the operation control room.... In an extreme situation where there is no escape, the human drama of the criminal group, the police, the JNR staff, and the passengers unfolds dramatically, and the train darts forward with the whole nation watching! The special trailer and previews are included as video extras.
