Description

Based on a historical incident that took place in the Shibata clan (present-day ShibataCity, Niigata Prefecture) during the "Boshin War" of the Meiji Restoration (1868-1912), Kazuo Kasahara, screenwriter of the "Battle Without Honor" series (1973) and other works, created a story in which criminals defend the Shibata clan fortress as a "suicide squad," The lead roles in this major project are played by Takayuki Yamada and Taiga Nakano. Deluxe edition comes with 11 original cards and a bonus DVD featuring making-of footage, interview with main casts, a music video for "Pingoronpigoro" performed by SHIBATA, a group of 10 artists such as Takayuki Yamada, Riho Sayashi and more, the MV's making-of footage, event footage, unreleased promotional videos and more.

Blu-ray

Blu-ray titles are playable only on Blu-ray players. They are not playable on conventional DVD players or HD DVD players. There are 3 region codes for Blu-rays as listed below, which are different from DVD region codes.
