The film was also much talked about for its starring appearance by Hiromi Murachi, the original national beauty! --Kosuke Mitsumori (Tetsuo Ishidate), a simple-minded but compassionate and good-natured man of the common people who is descended from the old Edo style, his serious younger brother Teruo (Daijiro Harada), and his cute younger sister Asami (Hiromi Murachi), all work together at a waterworks shop in downtown Tokyo in this coming-of-age humanistic comedy filled with love and tears. The theme of this comedy is love between parent and child and between siblings. The theme is love between parent and child and between siblings. In particular, the subtle and complicated love between two brothers for their half-sister. Various loves intersect, bringing tears and laughter. The family's plumber is a man who digs too deep into the ground to repair water leaks, and too tight in his packing to break the pipes, hence the nickname "Mizu-Mire-Kousuke. Kosuke's father, who had left home to become a jazz drummer, received news of his father's critical condition. When Kosuke arrives at the hospital, his father, Yasutaro, tells him the secret of Kosuke and Teruo's birth.
