Description

[Machine Translation] Selling leaves for 200 million yen. A true story of a miracle in the smallest town in Shikoku. Kamikatsu Town is located in the mountains of Tokushima Prefecture. This town, with the smallest population in Shikoku and an aging population, was a typical depopulated area that had nothing to do with the word "hope. One day, however, a miracle occurred. One agricultural cooperative employee came up with the idea of selling leaves from the mountains as a "garnish" for cooking, and the business was launched by women in their 70s and 80s, and has since grown into a big business with annual sales of more than 200 million yen. The town regained its luster and transformed itself to the point of recording a population increase. This film is based on that true story. This heartwarming and moving film, shot entirely on location in Kamikatsu Town, depicts how the women involved in the launch of the toys business transformed themselves, revived the town, and passed on the joy of living to the future.

葉っぱを売って、2億円。四国いち小さな町で起こった〈奇跡〉の実話。 徳島県の山間にある上勝町。四国で最も人口が少なく、高齢化の進んだこの町は、希望という言葉とは無縁の典型的な過疎地だった。しかし、あるとき奇跡が起こる。ひとりの農協職員が、山で採れる葉っぱを料理の<つまもの>として販売することを発案。70代、80代の女性たちを主戦力に事業を起こした結果、年商2億円以上を稼ぎだすビッグビジネスに成長。町はうるおいを取り戻し、人口増加を記録するまでに変貌を遂げたのだ。本作は、その実話から生まれた物語。つまものビジネスの立ち上げに関わった女性たちが、自分を変え、町を蘇らせ、生きる喜びを未来につなげていく姿を、オール上勝町ロケで描いた心温まる感動作。

There are a few DVD titles that are playable in all regions. Such titles are indicated as "Region Code: ALL" under "Edition Details" in item pages. If the indication is missing, then it must be assumed that the title is encoded for Region 2. *Please note that opened items are not eligible for returns, unless there is a manufacturer defect. So please make sure that your DVD player can play region 2 DVDs before completing your order (see Returns Policy).

HD DVD

HD DVDs titles are playable only on HD DVD players. They are not playalbe on conventional DVD players or Blu-ray players. On the other hand, Twin Format disc has a layer that is playable also on conventional DVD players. Such titles are indicated as "Format: HD DVD Twin Format" in item details page. *We'll add accurate information on regional encoding as they become available, but for the time-being, please assume that HD DVD titles available at CDJapan are encoded for Region-2.

Blu-ray

Blu-ray titles are playable only on Blu-ray players. They are not playable on conventional DVD players or HD DVD players. There are 3 region codes for Blu-rays as listed below, which are different from DVD region codes.

DVD-Audio

DVD-Audios are playable only on DVD-Audio players and DVD players that are compatible with DVD-Audios (to find out for sure, consult the manual of your DVD player, or look for DVD-Audio logo). DVD-Audios are not playable on regular DVD players or CD players.

SACD (Super Audio CD)

SACDs are playable only on SACD players, and will not play on regular CD players. On the other hand, SACD Hybrid disc has a layer that is playable also on regular CD payers. Such titles are indicated as "Format: SACD-Hybrid" in item details page.
