Description

The role of Nanzi, an immensely beautiful woman who appears before Confucius, is played by Jo Shun, one of the four most beautiful actresses in China, who is also known for her role in "Winter Song" and other films. The film is directed by Hu Mei, a female director belonging to the Chinese New Wave generation. --The story takes place in the 6th century BC. The Zhou Dynasty is on the verge of collapse, and the various states are engaged in a bloody struggle for supremacy. Confucius, born and raised in the family of a down-and-out aristocrat in the Lu Dynasty, was concerned about the turbulent times and took up the post of a government official in the Lu Kingdom. Do not do unto others what you would not have them do to you. He advocated the abolition of customs for the sake of the people, and his political philosophy, which he created himself, brought dignity and hope to the nation of Lu. To see righteousness and not do it is to lack courage. However, the times had not yet caught up with him. Caught up in political intrigues and hindered by various barriers, Confucius led many of his disciples on a journey around the country in order to realize his ideas.

There are 6 region codes. Typically, DVD players sold in one region is compatible only with DVD titles that are encoded for that region.

Blu-ray

Blu-ray titles are playable only on Blu-ray players. They are not playable on conventional DVD players or HD DVD players. There are 3 region codes for Blu-rays as listed below, which are different from DVD region codes.
