Description

[Machine Translation] The film depicts the life of a real-life gangster who was also an acquaintance of the author Jose Giovanni, who himself was a death-row convict from the underworld. Lino Ventura, who has an overwhelming presence as the main character, Abel Davos, portrays a gangster who commits a string of heinous crimes, but is also a good husband and father, a man of character who values friendship and has a gentle side, but is controlled by something fatal and is being destroyed by it. Jean-Paul Belmondo plays the young man who shows his firm friendship to Davos and tries to help him even at the cost of his own life, and Sandra Milo is bewitchingly and cleanly charming as his lover. --The film is set in Milan's train station, where a man is seeing off his wife and two children from a train bound for Vantimiglia, while trying to avoid being seen.
