In 2015, "MONTAGE" was remastered by John Davis (who passed away in 2023), a mastering engineer at Metropolis Studios, to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the film's release; however, this release employs half-speed cutting by Stuart Hawks, a longtime collaborator at the same Metropolis Studios. Since the record is cut while the lathe rotates at literally half speed, it delivers high- and low-frequency reproduction that is unique to analog records-and far surpasses that of standard-speed-cut records-making it impossible to reproduce via digital distribution, high-resolution audio, or CD playback, thereby enabling high-fidelity analog record playback. Metropolis Studios' half-speed cutting process utilizes a custom-modified Neumann VMS80 analog cutting machine-one of only a handful in existence worldwide. Stuart Hawks began his career as a cutting engineer, and his notable works include Amy Winehouse's *Back to Black* and Ed Sheeran's *+-= (Division Sign) x Tour Collection*. He has performed numerous half-speed cutting sessions to date.
