サンセット・イン・ザ・ブルー [SHM-CD] / メロディ・ガルドー
ノラ・ジョーンズ、マデリン・ペルーと並び2000年以降の米国女性シンガー三傑の一人であるメロディ・ガルドー。本作は2015年の『カレンシー・オブ・マン～出逢いの記憶～』 (UCCU-1488)以来実に5年振りとなるニューアルバム。6月に急遽リリースされ、ジャズ・ヴァイオリニスト寺井尚子の参加なども話題となった「フロム・パリ・ウィズ・ラヴ」など自身のオリジナルに加え、「ムーン・リヴァー」や「アイ・フォール・イン・ラヴ・トゥー・イージリー」などジャズ・スタンダードのカバーも織り交ぜた、彼女の現在とルーツを存分に楽しめる内容となっている。また、9月4日配信リリースのスティングとのデュエット曲「リトル・サムシング」も収録。今作はプロデュースをグラミー賞受賞プロデューサーのラリー・クライン (ボブ・ディラン、ジョニ・ミッチェル、ハービー・ハンコック)、そしてアレンジを作曲家のヴィンス・メンドーサ (ビョーク、エルヴィス・コステロ、パット・メセニー)が担当。いずれも彼女の出世作となった2ndアルバム『マイ・オンリー・スリル』 (UCCU-5843)を手掛けており、ベストな布陣で制作に臨んだ。また、作曲面では、ノラ・ジョーンズの大ヒット曲「ドント・ノー・ホワイ」の作曲者であるジェシー・ハリスと、タイトル曲「サンセット・イン・ザ・ブルー」を共作している。 ※本商品は金曜販売開始商品のため、商品のお届けは発売日当日以降になります。
