プログレッシヴ・メタルの頂点に君臨し続けるドリーム・シアターが、かつてライヴ、デモ、スタジオ・アウトテイクなどの秘蔵音源を生産限定でリリースしていた自身のレーベルYtsejamレコーズと現在の所属レーベルであるインサイドアウト・ミュージックとのコラボ企画として、"Lost Not Forgotten Archives" ("忘るまじ喪失音源集"の意)と題した公式ブートレグ・シリーズをリリースしていく計画を立ち上げた。その記念すべき第1弾が、初商品化となる『ライヴ・イン・ジャパン2017』。彼らの出世作となった1992年の傑作2ndアルバム『イメージズ・アンド・ワーズ』発売25周年を記念して開催されたアルバムを完全再現するワールド・ツアー＜IMAGES, WORDS & BEYOND - 25th Anniversary Tour＞より、9月11日の日本武道館公演の同アルバム全曲演奏パート (約68分)を収録。このシリーズは、未発表のアーカイヴ音源や、既発作品の最新マスタリングと新アートワークによる復刻で構成され、向こう数年間にわたってリリースされる。
