Introduction and Summary of "Sailor Moon Cosmos"

"Sailor Moon Cosmos" is a two-part Japanese animated action fantasy film released in June 2023.
The film is based on "the Stars arc" of the Sailor Moon manga by Naoko Takeuchi.
It is a direct sequel to "Sailor Moon Eternal" (2021) and serves as the fifth and final season of the Sailor Moon Crystal anime series.

The story takes place months after the defeat of the Dead Moon Circus.
Usagi Tsukino and her friends are living peaceful lives as high school students in Tokyo.
Usagi's boyfriend, Mamoru is about to leave to study in the United States but, as he is saying goodbye to Usagi at the local airport, he is attacked and disappears in front of her.
Unable to accept his disappearance, Usagi suppresses her memory of the event.
Meanwhile, the organization known as Shadow Galactica, led by Sailor Galaxia, arrives on Earth with the intention of stealing star seeds throughout the galaxy.
The Sailor Starlights also join the fight. Sailor Galaxia robs the Sailor Guardians of their Sailor Crystals in her quest to gain control of the Galaxy Cauldron.
Desperate to save her friends, Usagi transforms into Eternal Sailor Moon and teams up with the Sailor Starlights to confront Sailor Galaxia in a final battle.
