Z-4 Cheek & Highlight Brush / Chikuhodo Z Series / Gray SquirrelMakeup BrushLove love love! This is my first face brush from the Z series and I'm totally converted and can't wait to get the Z 1 and Z 9 as soon as my wallet can afford it. This brush is so insanely soft, I didn't think humans could produce anything like this! Thanks to the squirrels I suppose! You might think that soft does not equal good but just no. This brush picks up enough product that I actually have to use a light hand when using it with my NARS/Bobbi Brown/Bare Minerals blushes and highlighters. Be careful while putting product on though because its not the best blending brush. It works best in dabbing motions rather than circular motions. Only to be used with powder products I love caressing the bristles on my face even when I'm not doing my make up. It feels like air!

Z-5 Eye Shadow Brush / Chikuhodo Z Series / Gray SquirrelMakeup BrushLife changing for any skin typeI don't know what kind of voodoo Tesshyu puts into these brushes but once you get any brush from the Z series nothing else will compare ever again. This brush is so amazing and large for any lid; it covers the whole lid in seconds. Another thing is that I used this brush with my MAC Veluxe pearlfusion eye shadows which were just sitting gathering dust since they're so shimmery and have ridiculous fall out so are unusable. But with this brush I don't know how it just gathered up all the pigment plus shimmer and placed it so delicately on my lid (I used patting motions) with maybe like 1% fall out. I wish there was a brush exactly like this in a larger size as well!! It would make a great multi tasker. Obviously this brush can only be used with powder products but this isn't a con for me because it does what its supposed to do amaaaazingly. Love it!

Z-10 Eye Shadow Brush / Chikuhodo Z Series / Gray SquirrelMakeup BrushI can't use anything else now!If I could give this 10 stars I would! I think the Z series has really spoilt me now and I really just can't use any other brush ever. I had the MAC 219 pencil brush for years and the Z 10 has changed my life. It's bristles are longer than the 219 and if I rate the Z 10 100% on the softness scale then the MAC 219 would be in the negative range. It's scratchy for the under eye while the Z 10 feels like clouds on my under eye. People talk about the Z 10 being less precise but I don't know what kind of precision they're talking about, the Z 10 does a brilliant job because the squirrel hair picks up and applies enough product for my liking. It does not smear or spread so for my it is 100% precise as well. There is no other pencil brush out there by any brand in the world that can compare with this brush. My holy grail and best brush ever!

GSN-10 Eye Shadow Brush / Chikuhodo GSN Series / GoatMakeup BrushSimilar to MAC 217If I could compare this brush to a cult fav it would be the MAC 217 but unfortunately even though the GSN series has great reviews I found the softness of this brush to be just a little bit better than MAC. It was better but it did not blow me away. However with the price tag and the way this brush works it is a much better brush than the MAC. I use it to apply my transition shade and also blend out harsh lines. It's tip is more tapered and it's fibers are longer than the MAC 217 so I am really able to get in the crease to blend. I also use it to diffusely apply highlighter on my nose and like how long it is and the shiny gold ferrule. This is a better brush to have in your kit than the MAC 217 for sure.

T-6 Eye Shadow Brush L / Chikuhodo Takumi Series / Goat SaikohoMakeup BrushNot a necessityThis brush did not blow me away. I got it because I'd read rave reviews about it's softness and efficiency. Yeah it's a soft brush for goat hair but you can still tell it's goat and not squirrel or something. Also it's a gigantic brush for use on the lids and it is a multi tasker because of its size. You could use it for highlight and I use it for setting my under eyes although I have other brushes that do the same thing without the hefty price tag. I just haven't found the best use for it which is why I feel bad rating it less than 4 stars (I'm sure some will disagree with me and say it deserves the full five). Also the white hairs stain easily and personally I just don't like that. I will try it more with some cream products but I doubt I'm going to fall in love with this anytime soon.

R-S2 Eye Shadow Brush Black / Chikuhodo Regular Series / Horse BlackMakeup BrushSuch a gentle brush!I can't believe that this brush is horse hair! It looks and feels amazing and is a complete bargain for the price! This brush is so well made, so sleek and powerful even with its tiny size- super travel friendly. I can't wait to buy more from these series. This should be rated waaay higher than 3 for softness. If squirrel is 9 then this is easily 7.5 or more. I love the size of the brush head to pack color on my lid. Love it!!
