Shinobi (English Subtitles) Premium Edition [Limited Release]Japanese MovieNice try for CG-effects-action film! This is a blockbuster film! Get it if you like all-stars action. Original manga fans would be disappointed upon watching the film. But come to think of it, if they were to follow the manga so closely, they would follow the title of the manga too, right? If you're a traditional martial arts/action films, you might be disappointed too. But if you're a crazy anime otaku, or any animation maniac, you might love this film. It consist of breathtaking (Japanese CGI action, first time, no?) actions accompanied by speedy editing and beautifully coloured cinematography. The actors' performance were great too. But how bad can you expect from professional, experienced & huge talents? We all know about how great Odagiri, Nakama & Sawajiri could act. I would have given the film an excellent rating if only the story was better. While being intensed and emotionally engaging, the plot's somehow missing something. That missing thing is probably character development. But I'm not going to write much spoilers. So get a copy of this Japanese blockbuster and judge it yourself!

Single V: Sayonara Tomodachi niwa NaritakunainoMaki GotoThe Best Maki Goto Promotional Video!I reckon "Sayonara Tomodachi niwa naritakunai no" as the best Maki Goto PV. Cold colours were used in the PV to emphasize on the aftermath of breaking up, that being friends will no longer be satisfied anymore. They also used slow-motion editing with the aid of wind to make our goddess look as ravishing as ever. The PV is also one of the very few Hello! Project videos that involve that much coverage in different places. In my own view, I feel that this is the PV Maki looked best in. Not only were the makeup/costumes good, but the slow-motion and videography was really good too. Like the shot of the grapes dropping into the glass of water, we could see a slow-motion of the bubbles appearing. It was great. I would have given the DVD an excellent score if only they had a better second version of the video. The second video in the DVD was a little boring, unless you are a big fan of her. It basically consisted of no editing, one-shot throughout with no enhancement from the lightings and a handheld camera. Its like they took it while she was resting and preparing for the next shot, behind the scene.

Period [w/ DVD, first pressing only limited release]Haruka AyaseGreat short film!As all of us know, Ayase Haruka is an actress, not an ordinary so-so actress but a pretty good actress. This version of the single not only consist of her single (which was composed & written by big names), but also the DVD version of her latest short film "Taberu Kishinai". A short film? Wouldn't that relief the thirst of Ayase Haruka fans, who are used to watching her act in films & dramas. "Taberu Kishinai" follows around a central theme about people would continue eating no matter they're happy or sad. The film centers around the girl who just broke up with her first love. If you like bizzare films like "Kamikaze Girls" or Tarantino works, I guess you'd like this one too. Its heavily uses distanciation/alienation effects too, getting the characters to address to the audience and lots more jump cuts than you could imagine. If you liked "Crash", you may like this too. While it may seemed like it makes no sense to others, you'd think that its an emotional rollercoaster ride. This moment, you felt happy, and next, you're not. But no matter which moment you're at, you continue eating, and eating, just like what the central theme is!
