Noticed that the packaging is like Rezes collar!

Just like with Daft Punk before, on the Iron: Legacy soundtrack, NIN overshadows the disappointing movie with an amazing soundtrack. As much as I love Daft Punk's Iron score from a several years ago, this one by NIN is better. I put this on while I work and there are several times where I'll do some serious chair dancing as NIN pounds out some slamming tracks. Plus, the limited edition packaging was really cool. The packaging is a throwback to floppy disk packaging from the 1980s... just perfect. The only thing that could've made this better is if the CD had been in the SHM-CD format, but this still sounds great. Disney should just keep hiring great electronic/industrial artists to keep making scores for Tron movies that don't exist, since the soundtracks have outshined the last two movies.

This box set is ridiculously good. From the 7 SHM-CDs, to the book, to the main reason to pick up this set: the Dolby Atmos and Surround Sound Blu-ray audio disc. Hearing this album in Dolby Atmos is like hearing it for the first time. Plus, the SHM-CD format is perfect for rock and roll music and all the extras just shine with plenty of dynamic range and depth thanks to the SHM-CD format. If you're a Who fan, I can't imagine you not wanting this in your collection. Highly recommended.

As a long time Sonata Arctica fan, this is easily on their lower end of their catalogue. Rated against nearly everything that proceeded this, it was hard going getting through all the songs here. There is definitely something a little off with the production, some of the sounds, particularly the drums have a harsh sound. The actual songs with okay, solid but not remotely comparable to what has come before this. I bought this out of curiosity only and a collection filler, i don't plan on listening to this anytime soon.

This is a re-issue of Nightwish's fourth studio album, originally issued in 2002. The first album to feature bassist/vocalist Marco Hietala, who not only beefed up the sound with his heavier style of bass playing, transformed the band with his stela lead vocals. This release is a SHM-CD with original mastering, containing two bonus studio songs 'Lagoon' and 'The Wayfarer') plus a radio edit of 'Bless The Child' and two live tracks. If you already own this, the sound shows a slight improvement to the trained ear, but the arrival of Marco Hietala brought new dimension to the bands sound. he dominant male vocals fits in effortlessly with Tarja's operatic soprano tones. A worthy addition your Nightwish collection, whether you own this already or looking for a highly collectable SHM disc.

Expectations were pretty high, as the previous self titled album was one of their best in many years. This standard version features 10 songs, ranging from the very melodic 'This Is Tokyo', to the fast and furious pace of the opener 'Giants On The Run'. Vocals are shared with Andi Deris and the for mentioned Hansen and Kiske, with each singer having their own distinct sound and unique qualities. But the real magic is when all their voices come together in the one song and take things to a higher level. The album has a very distinctive 1980's feel from the production, the drums sounding perhaps a little too high in the mix, with some of the guitars not as sharp as the previous album. If your already a fan of this legendary band, then you won't be disappointed, if new to the band this is a perfectly good place to start.

I have many versions of this album on vinyl and CD and this is the finest one yet. Sound and packaging. Roy Halee‘s production shines!
