The Captain And Me [SHM-CD] [Limited Release]

If you go back and read my comments on "Can't Buy A Thrill" (Steely Dan, of course), my view of the SHM-CD process becomes clear; depending on the quality of the original source (master tapes) and depending on whatever re-mastering has been applied to these latest re-issues, the SHM process renders the clearest, warmest, most superior-sounding audio yet found on 'Red-Book' CD...by a significant margin. Depending on the limits of your playback system, the improvements range from slight (but apparent) to very significant indeed. If you're thinking of spending more money upgrading your CD transport, don't do it until you've heard one of these discs played back on your old unit - it just may change your mind! You could spend thousands and perhaps not get the improvement you'll notice here. And, BTW, why isn't the music buisness distributing this product everywhere? I love Japan, but I'd really like to be able to choose SHM-encoded CDs here in the U.S! It figures...we want everything the Japanese make (cars, TVs, etc.) and all we've got to offer them is Cheap Trick! And they even release "Budokan" on Blu-CD!
