The 4th solo album of Gota Nishidera of NONA REEVES is completed. The culmination of his 40 years of songwriting is born here. From "BABY LOVER," arranged and produced by Ken Tomita, which he made as a demo tape by humming at the age of 12 in 1985 and which has already been shown on "Tamori Club," to the latest co-written song "MUSIC BOYS," in which he teams up one on one for the first time with his close ally Yasuyuki Horigome, this work condenses his 40-year history of songwriting. The co-producer is Tomoya Yamagata, a guitarist and engineer who is highly trusted as Nishidera's right hand. "Away," produced with Yudai Ohi (SANABUGUN.), his musical partner since the previous work and recently the bandmaster of NewJeans (now NJZ), is a masterpiece of smooth mellow that modernly follows the lineage of R&B such as Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson. The dynamic new jack swing kayou "Ai no Wana (I KNOW I WANNA)" created with the new generation track maker "Kamino the Funk" based in Kansai, the latest form of the Nishidera-style "danceable melancholy groove" "Hey Mister Beat," the mysterious instrumental "1987," which revives the mid-1980s Synclavier sound with a new interpretation, and the soul ballad monument dedicated to Quincy Jones "Heartbreak," as well as the famous Simply Red song "HOLDING BACK THE YEARS" produced by Dan Miyagawa, together form a retrospective yet ongoing masterpiece that embraces popness of all eras while weaving in covers. The jacket photography is taken by photographer Shinya Kato on the beach of Santa Monica LA, visited for the funeral of Tito Jackson, guitarist of the Jacksons and the Jackson 5.
