I first played this cd on my little bedroom stereo, which is certainly not an audiophile-grade system. I was, nonetheless, immediately smiling when I heard the great sound coming from "Tore down a la Rimbaud". Fantastic mastering job on this! I wish all SHM-cds were remastered as well as these Van Morrison releases, in fact. It sounds even more impressive on my Marantz system, so much so that I have ordered all the other Van Morrison SHM-cds. I deserve a good boot in the arse, however, for missing out on "Tupelo Honey", "It's too Late to Stop Now", and "Into the Music". Keep 'em coming (more like this please).

This latest reissue of mid 80?s mature Van Morrison is very good. The is a well-balanced melodic album that includes two instrumental tracks, very enjoyable ?Evening Meditation? and Irish-tunes of ?Boffyflow and Spike?. The latest remastering is perfect. SHM-format sounds to sense as the soundstage is wide and spacious, instruments and vocals are well rounded and separated, the sound is airy and easy to the ear. The cardboard sleeve of LP-replica is of high quality. Recommended!
