Description
SHM-CD reissue featuring the 2004 edit of this release. The high quality SHM-CD (Super High Material CD) format features enhanced audio quality through the use of a special polycarbonate plastic. Using a process developed by JVC and Universal Music Japan discovered through the joint companies' research into LCD display manufacturing, SHM-CDs feature improved transparency on the data side of the disc, allowing for more accurate reading of CD data by the CD player laser head. SHM-CD format CDs are fully compatible with standard CD players. This release is also part of the 200-album SHM-CD Series Campaign from Universal Music Japan.

The sound of this SHM-CD is just fantastic and far superior to my older re-mastered version. With MORE balanced / clearer bass , guitars , keyboards , highs and lows and much cleaner , booming vocals. The new SHM-CD improved sound is NO gimmick!!! The scream at the beginning of the song , WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE , will blow your mind. Even the whistling part of the song , PATIENCE , fills your room. The piano parts in the song , NOVEMBER RAIN , shine , as does every other instrument. This SHM-CD sounds great with 2 speakers on a digital stereo but the best results can be heard on a multi-channeled digital stereo with more than 2 speakers. YOU will never have to buy a SACD player [again]. I have also heard , THE WHO'S Definitive Collection , with the same excellent sound and I can't wait for the , LED ZEPPELIN studio SHM-CDs and box set being released in September , 2008.
