Canadian legendary power trio Rush revives their classic album "Grace Under Pressure" in a lavish edition commemorating its 40th anniversary. This release includes a newly created 2025 mix of "Grace Under Pressure" by renowned producer Terry Brown, plus the first complete release of the concert film and live album from Rush's performance in Toronto, Canada on September 21, 1984. As part of Rush's expanded album reissue series, the 1984 album "Grace Under Pressure" is released as a new Super Deluxe Edition to celebrate its 40th anniversary. "Grace Under Pressure", Rush's tenth studio album, was originally released in April 1984. This album marked a milestone as the band, after ten successful years working with producer Terry Brown, challenged themselves to further evolve their sound by working with a new producer. The album was co-produced by Rush and Peter Henderson, engineered by Paul Northfield, with Frank Opolko and Roberto Di Gioia serving as assistant engineers.
The Super Deluxe Edition includes a set of four CDs and one Blu-ray, along with a 52-page hardcover book. CD 1 features the original 1984 stereo mix, newly remastered from the original analog stereo master tapes by Sean Magee at Abbey Road Studios. CD 2 contains a newly created stereo mix produced by Terry Brown from the original studio album analog multitracks. CD 3 and CD 4 include, for the first time in complete form, the full setlist from Rush's Toronto, Canada concert held at Maple Leaf Gardens on September 21, 1984. This material has also been newly mixed from the original multitrack audio masters and is retitled "Grace Under Pressure Tour: Live in Toronto 1984". The Blu-ray (region free) includes newly edited and HD remastered video footage of the above concert. While the concert home video and CD released in 1986 under the title "Grace Under Pressure Tour" were somewhat incomplete, this newly included full concert version adds 37 minutes of previously unreleased performances. The Blu-ray also features newly remixed audio of the complete 1984 studio album in Dolby Atmos and Dolby TrueHD 5.1. Terry Brown's new album remix is also included in Dolby Atmos and Dolby TrueHD 5.1.
In addition, the Blu-ray includes music videos for "Distant Early Warning", "Afterimage", "The Enemy Within", and "The Body Electric". All video content has been HD remastered and is presented in Dolby TrueHD 5.1ch and PCM stereo. This Super Deluxe Edition includes newly written liner notes by band member Geddy Lee, reflecting on the search for a new producer during the album's production and his memories of revisiting the album in recent years. Hugh Syme, the original album designer, has reinterpreted the original album jacket artwork, created new illustrations for each of the album's eight tracks, and produced additional related visual elements included in the accompanying book.
Exclusive box set bonus items include a custom acrylic "Grace Under Pressure" LED illuminated display, a replica of the tour book, a replica ticket from the Maple Leaf Gardens Toronto concert, a "Grace Under Pressure" tour all-area access backstage pass, replicas of the six-page press materials titled "Pressure Release", lithographs of live photos of the three band members, and a poster from the Toronto concert. All items are housed in a high-quality lidded storage box. Japan edition only, SHM-CD format. Limited to 1,000 sets, fully limited production. Includes Japanese liner notes, lyrics, and translations.
