I've been wanting to buy it, and I think I made a good purchase when it was on sale. Bon Jovi is like my youth...

One the Greatest Albums of the 80s 5

Slippery is simply one of the greatest albums from the 80s. Full stop, period. Everything works in lock step, which is due mainly to the songwriting. These songs sound GREAT on the SHM-CDs, I love that they used the original cover, and the inclusion of the B0-Sides and live songs makes a this great album even greater.

Love the mini LP format! 5

This was my first purchase from CD Japan and of the mini LP CD format. I can highly recommend CD Japan. To my surprise, the order shipped prior to the release date and arrived on my doorstep in Australia on the day of the official release! Great care had been taken to ensure the mini LP was protected with plenty of bubble wrap and use of a strong, small shipping box. I love the mini LP format. It’s something different and unique to Japan releases along with the Japan only ‘wet t-shirt’ banned album cover for this album. The prints of the 7inch Japan vinyl singles covers are a nice touch however what interested me most with this release were the bonus tracks on the second CD. As a long time BJ fan, I’ve been collecting officially released B-Sides from albums and CD singles from all over the world for over 30 years. With this release and to the best of my knowledge, the only new B-Sides not already released on CD were ‘Livin’ On A Prayer’ and ‘Wanted Dead Or Alive’, both of which were recorded live in 1993 at the Milton Keynes National Bowl along with ‘Livin’ On A Prayer’ recorded live at Cobo Arena Detroit USA 11 March 1987 and ‘Let It Rock’, recorded live at the Nassau Coliseum New York 9 August 1987. Whilst I would have liked to have had a few more previously unreleased B-Sides included. I think that overall, this is a great (albeit expensive!) collector’s item form Bon Jovi fans! Thank you CD Japan!

Nice 4

First up I am not much of a fan of Bon Jovi so was at first buying this for the 7" packaging and not much else... Until I sat down and gave it a really good listen. I now understand what all of the fuss is about way back in the day and greatly appreciate just how they conquered the world with their driving guitars and urgent percussion. "Slippery When Wet" is a great snapshot of that time and while many bands from around that period have dated very badly Bon Jovi has not. Is it a timeless classic? Yes, I think "Slippery When Wet" fits nicely.
