From legacy to the future. A collaborative album with the Danish Radio Big Band following a Grammy-nominated work. This is a new album by Miho Hazama, who has continued worldwide activities based in New York as a jazz composer since her major debut in 2012. This work is a collaboration with the Danish Radio Big Band (DRBB), where Hazama has served as principal conductor since October 2019. In 2021 Hazama released the first album with DRBB, "Imaginary Visions," and in November 2022 she led DRBB on a highly successful Japan tour. The second release, "Live Life This Day: Celebrating Thad Jones," announced in March 2025, is nominated for "Best Instrumental Composition" at the 68th Grammy Awards (Hazama's second Grammy nomination). Released with only a one-year interval since the previous work, Hazama composed this album by facing the history of the traditional DRBB and drawing inspiration from the great musical directors who have shaped the band's identity over the past several decades. As a result, the work is rooted in the band's legacy while remaining unmistakably a work unique to Miho Hazama.
