When the sun sets, I will come to pick you up. A youthful love story starring Takayuki Yamada and Erika Sawajiri, presenting another version of "Taiyo no Uta" that depicts episodes not shown in the theatrical film. In a small town in Shonan, Koji Fujishiro (Takayuki Yamada) loses his job at a boxed-lunch factory and drifts through each day without any sense of purpose. Meanwhile, Kaoru Amane (Erika Sawajiri), a girl suffering from xeroderma pigmentosum (XP), an incurable disease that prevents exposure to sunlight, is an aspiring singer-songwriter. Her original songs submitted to music contests are always rejected, with judges commenting, "Have you ever truly loved someone?", leaving her struggling to understand how to sing in a way that moves peoples hearts. One night, while Kaoru is performing Asami Tachibanas song in front of the station, she encounters Koji. Feeling it was fate, she gathers her courage to speak to him but is treated coldly. Later, she joins a group mixer with Misaki and unexpectedly meets Koji again. Kaoru is delighted, but Koji, apathetic toward life, cannot connect with her feelings. Although the two gradually grow closer, an unexpected incident on a Ferris wheel leads Koji to learn about Kaorus illness. Through falling in love, Kaoru wishes to live for the first time, and her singing begins to change. Yet her limited time is slowly drawing to a close. Bonus features include: "Taiyo no Uta" Kaoru Amane PV Special Edition (2 versions), cast interviews (Takayuki Yamada Interview, Erika Sawajiri Interview, Masayoshi Katsumura & Chieko Kuroda Interview), "wish" Asami Tachibana full in-program version, Megumi Sato Shonan Diary, Ousama no Brunch segments (Takayuki Yamada & Erika Sawajiri Interview, Catching the Real Kei Tanaka, Becky Interview), making-of feature, first-public VTR from production announcement, production announcement footage, promotional spot collection, trailer collection, non-credit title sequence.
