The landmark 100th performance of this unprecedented residency is finally being released in a complete official edition. Held at his hometown venue, Madison Square Garden in New York, "Billy Joel At The Garden" ran as a monthly residency for 11 years beginning in January 2014, with every show selling out. This unprecedented regular run came to a close on July 25, 2024, with Billy's 150th career performance at the venue. Billy first performed at MSG on December 14, 1978, and reached 150 career performances there approximately 46 years later. The next closest solo artist is Elton John with 80 performances. "MSG 100" took place on March 28, two months after Billy's emotional Tokyo Dome concert in Japan, his first performance there in 16 years. The show was televised nationwide in the United States on CBS on April 14, three weeks later, but the full 25-song performance was cut down to 14 songs. In addition, due to an error during the broadcast, the program ended in the middle of the finale, "Piano Man", prompting the network to issue an apology. A rebroadcast was arranged soon afterward, but that version was also shortened, making this release the first official complete edition of that memorable performance, a night that became legendary. Another major highlight is the performance of the new song "Turn The Lights Back On", which had begun to find its live form. 4-panel digipak packaging. Please note that this is a Friday-on-sale item, so delivery will be on or after the release date.
