通算14作目、前作から3年ぶりとなるスタジオ・アルバムが完成。今作は彼らのアルバムとしては初めて、ギターよりもピアノで当初の着想を得た作品。レコーディングは2020年から21年にかけての冬、長年のコラボレート相手デイヴ・エリンガ(ザ・フー)と共にウェールズ・モンマスのロックフィールドと、彼らがニューポートに所有するドア・トゥ・ザ・リヴァー・スタジオで行われ、その後デヴィッド・レンチ(ブロッサムズ、フランク・オーシャン、アーロ・パークス)がミキシングを手がけた。本作収録曲の「ザ・シークレット・ヒー・ハド・ミスト」にはジュリア・カミング(サンフラワー・ビーン)、「ブランク・ダイアリー・エントリー」にはマーク・ラネガンと、ゲスト・ヴォーカリストが2人参加している。収録曲は内観、静かな激情と崇高でたまらなく魅力的な曲を完璧な形で融合。これらの要素はオープニングの日本人にとっては興味深いタイトル「スティル・スノーイング・イン・サッポロ」のアンビエントなハミングから、エンディングまで全体にわたっている。※本商品は金曜販売開始商品のため、商品のお届けは発売日当日以降になります。
