プログレッシヴ・メタルの頂点に君臨し続けるドリーム・シアターが、ライヴ、デモ、スタジオ・アウトテイクなどの秘蔵音源を公式ブートレグとしてリリースする"Lost Not Forgotten Archives" (忘るまじ喪失音源集)シリーズ。その第7弾は、1994年のサード・アルバム『アウェイク』のデモ音源。大ブレイクした前作『イメージズ・アンド・ワーズ』の印象が強すぎたため、発売当初よりも時を経るごとに評価が高まった初期名盤。前作の路線を踏襲せずに潔くヘヴィなサウンドへとギアを上げており、圧倒的な超越技巧、初めて登場する長尺の組曲、インスト曲、息をのむような美しいバラードドと、彼ら独自の美学が覚醒した作品であり、その後のバンドの進化を予感させる濃密なプログレ・メタル・スタイルを提示した1枚となった。かつて自身のレーベルYtsejamレコーズより生産限定で発売していたが、このたび最新マスタリングと新アートワークによって待望の復刻となった。日本盤は高品質Blu-spec CD2仕様。国内盤先行発売。
