Description
Francesco Tristano returns to his roots with a new studio album that uniquely juxtaposes Renaissance and early Baroque works with his own Baroque-inspired piano compositions. The album features Renaissance keyboard works by Italian composer Girolamo Frescobaldi, English composer and organist Orlando Gibbons, John Bull, and Peter Philips. The Japanese version of the album is in high quality Blu-spec CD2 format. The bonus track is a live taken from the Glenn Gould Gathering, curated by Ryuichi Sakamoto in 2017.

ジャンルを横断するフランチェスコ・トリスターノが初心に戻り、ルネッサンスや初期バロックの作品と、自身のバロック風ピアノ曲をユニークに並べた新しいスタジオアルバム。イタリアの作曲家ジロラーモ・フレスコバルディ、イギリスの作曲家でオルガン奏者でもあるオーランド・ギボンズ、ジョン・ブル、ピーター・フィリップスといったルネサンス期の鍵盤作品を収録。オリジナルそのまま演奏しているトラックもあれば、ルネサンスのオリジナルをベースにトリスターノが即興を加えたトラックもあり、アルバム全体が単なる古い時代の作品集というのではなく、クラシックとネオ・クラシックが魅力的にミックスされたものになっている。トラックによっては雰囲気を出すために、非常に控えめながらエレクトロニクス (シンセサイザーなど)を使うことも辞さない態度はフランチェスコならではと言える。日本盤は高品質Blu-specCD2仕様。ボーナストラックには2017年に坂本龍一のキュレーションで行われた「グレン・グールド・ギャザリング」におけるライヴ・テイクを収録。
