This work is a full remake of the second title in the "Zero" series released in 2003, "Zero Crimson Butterfly," a Japanese style horror adventure game in which twin sisters who stray into an abandoned village haunted by vengeful spirits advance the story while fighting the spirits using the camera "Camera Obscura" that captures the impossible and seals it away. In the story, the twin sisters Mio Amakura and Mayu Amakura visit a memorable mountain stream that is soon to be submerged by a dam. While Mio is lost in memories, her elder sister Mayu is lured by a red butterfly into a "village erased from the map." It is a village where night never ends, swarming with vengeful spirits searching for twins who escaped from a ritual. Mio tries to find Mayu and escape the village, but that act unintentionally traces a past tragedy, and Mio learns the truth of a "forbidden ritual you must not see" in the innermost part of the village. The characters are Mio Amakura, voiced by Yui Kondo, and Mayu Amakura, voiced by Haruka Shiraishi. All elements including graphics, sound, and operability are updated, and the stage "Minakami Village" is realistically expressed with a dark and eerie atmosphere through strong emphasis on light and shadow depiction. With three dimensional sound, you sense the presence of spirits more closely and enjoy a real horror experience exploring the village filled with vengeful spirits. The new function "hold hands with Mayu" allows you to recover health and spirit power, and when Mayu is in a pinch she may fall, so approach her and help her up. New features in the "Camera Obscura" such as "focus," "zoom," and "filter" deepen play in both exploration and combat.
