Amid the fast-changing Japanese music scene of the 1990s, as kayokyoku gave way to J-POP, KIRINJI emerged with a one-of-a-kind pop sound, transforming a wide range of influences - from rock and country to jazz, soul, and Brazilian music - through sophisticated arrangements and a lyrical world uniquely their own. This LP is based on "2 IN 1," the 1999 compilation that brought together the two maxi singles "KIRINJI" and "Fuyu no Orca," originally released in 1997 on the eve of the duo's major-label debut album "Paper Drivers Music." At one point, even the CD had become hard to find, but in 2026 these very earliest KIRINJI recordings finally make their first-ever vinyl release. Along with alternate versions of "Kaze wo Ute" (A1) and "Fuyu no Orca" (B1), both later included on the 1998 major-label debut album, this release also contains four precious early tracks that did not appear on that album, including "Mizuiro no Ajisai no Ue" (A3), "Akaneiro Shita Ano Sora wa" (A4), and "Kyuujitsu Dia" (B3), plus instrumental versions of each song. Presented as a 2LP set.
