Though the story by Alexandre Dumas was filmed many times, the Richard Lester series is considered the definitive adaptations by fans and critics alike. Aside from its great cinematography, sets, and costumes (their weathered looks are fantastic!), the series boasts a brilliant cast. The late Oliver Reed in particular steals nearly every scene he's in. The two films were shot back to back.
