手描きのアニメーションにおいて圧倒的な表現力を誇り、国内外問わず、コアなアニメファンの絶大な支持を受けるアニメーションスタジオ「トリガー」。1993年から放送されたTVシリーズ「電光超人グリッドマン」を原作に、完全新作アニメーションを制作! 監督は「ニンジャスレイヤーフロムアニメイシヨン」でシリーズディレクター、日本アニメ (-ター)見本市で公開された「電光超人グリッドマン boys invent great hero」で監督を務めた雨宮哲が担当。オープニング主題歌は「ダイヤのA」「オーバーロード」など数々のアニメタイアップを務める男性ボーカルユニット"OxT"。
