After seeing so many reviews about this brush, I decided to purchase it. It’ll be perfect for my liquid foundation. The brush has a nice short handle. The hairs are densely packed and are very soft. If you’re looking for an alternative to the discontinued Fu-pa brushes, the BZ-1 will be a good alternative.

I just found my holy grail travel foundation brush! Of course, I see myself reaching for this brush on a daily basis as well. I've seen so many reviewers actually use and reach for this brush during demos, that I had to check it out for myself. Out of my lengthy purchase, I was most shock with this brush! Surprisingly soft bristles, perfectly dense, blends like a dream (even for liquids/creams), the perfect size, doesn't shed. I'm so impressed with this brush that I'm looking into getting the angled foundation brush just to have a duo on the go! Highly recommend!
I prefer this Houkodou BZ-1 to Koyudo fu-pa14 CB (grey squirrel & goat). This brush is incredibly soft, no tugging at all! Whereas Koyudo fu-pa14 CB has some tugging, compared to this brush. I also own Koyudo fu-pa14 (grey squirrel & baby goat chest hair). I don't think the fu-pa14 can replace this BZ-1. They are distinguish brushes. If I can only choose one brush for foundation, I'll go with BZ-1. BZ-1 buffs very well, due to its sturdiness. Fu-pa14 also buffs well (and most naturally for stamping blush on the cheek), but BZ-1 is just more durable based on the hair difference.
First of all it’s a beautiful brush. I love the gold and copper colour combo. It feels just right in your hand. The bristles are really soft and it is fab for sweeping and buffing liquid foundation. It’s also does a good job of sweeping on powder and you can contour and bronze with this little brush. A great multitasker.
Very soft and densely packed! Apply liquid and cream foundation like a dream! I also use it for cream blusher and is addicted to it! Way softer than Koyudo Fupa 02. Highly recommend!
