The "REN" series was created under the supervision of Tesshu, a master brush maker, by combining the techniques of making gray squirrel cosmetic brushes, which have become synonymous with CHIKUHODO, and a new material, red fox.

Red fox, which has a remarkably smooth tip and firmness among fox bristles, but has a strong texture that makes it difficult to process as a makeup brush, was blended with gray squirrel through a process of trial and error using CHIKUHODO's original formula.
