Published to commemorate the 45th anniversary of Uchusen magazine. Originally launched by Asahi Sonorama and now published by Hobby Japan, Uchusen is a long-running tokusatsu magazine whose founding editor-in-chief, Minoru Murayama, compiled and expanded his serialized column "Uchusen Danwashitsu," which ran for ten installments from 1995 to 1998, into this new book edition. The original series featured conversations with legendary figures from the tokusatsu world - such as special effects director Nobuo Yajima (Special Effects Research Institute), composer Shunsuke Kikuchi, and illustrator Yuji Kaida - each of whom had personal ties with Murayama. These interviews now serve as an invaluable record of their words and experiences. This edition also includes a newly recorded roundtable discussion between Murayama, freelance editor and writer Shinsuke Nakajima (active since the magazine's early days), and current Uchusen contributor Atsuhiko Sugita. The book preserves and passes down the spirit of the dedicated creators and producers who poured their hearts into tokusatsu films and TV dramas from the Showa to the Heisei era.
