It has been 18 years since the comprehensive art collection "Comet" (Kodansha, Ltd.) and 11 years since the thematic art collection "FUTURE" (Tokyo Sogensha, Ltd.), which specialized in Captain Future illustrations, and now, in 2022, Kenji Tsuruta has published his first gorgeous color art collection! The unique beauty of the girls, the exquisite touch, and the details that evoke the sense of wonder of science fiction. Kenji Tsuruta, a manga artist known for his prolific output, has remained at the forefront of the illustration field as well. He has published several art books in the past, but it has been a while since his last publication. Over the past 20 years, he has slowly accumulated a large number of illustrations that have been used for various book, new book, and paperback book bindings, CD cover artworks, settings for films, and variety projects such as posters and cards. Some of these illustrations, drawn for the new paperback edition of the "Captain Future" series published by Tokyo Sogensha, were published in 2011 as the illustration collection "FUTURE," but the remaining illustrations are still untouched. In an attempt to converge about half of the uncollected illustrations in a random, shuffled form, the book will be published twice, in spring and fall, as a comprehensive, all-natural-color, gorgeous collection of illustrations, many of which are said to have been drawn after 2004. This first art book is titled "Tsubuan". The collection includes illustrations for famous novels such as "The Emanon Series," "The Sky Crawlers," "Brave Story," and "Shiro Glass," illustrations accompanying the text of various works (some colored versions are being shown for the first time), and CD cover artworks for electro-rock band Jedge Johnson. In addition to art, original illustrations based on "Shin Godzilla," "Evangelion," and other special effects, the collection also includes rare works such as play pamphlets and posters for local governments that only a few people have probably seen.
