スペインの哀愁 [SHM-CD] / ジョン・ロード
ディープ・パープルのオルガニストとして知られる故ジョン・ロードが70年代に遺した3枚のソロ・アルバム復刻。本作は1976年にリリースされた『スペインの哀愁』。日本初CD化。ディープ・パープル創設メンバーとしてグループを牽引し続けたジョン・ロード。俗に第1期ディープ・パープルと呼ばれる初期の彼らは、ジョン・ロードのオルガン・プレイが主導権を握るアート・ロックと呼ばれていた時期であり、クラシック音楽を背景としたロック・サウンドだった。70年代に入り、次第にリッチー・ブラックモア(G)主体のハード・ロックへ音楽性が移行していく中、ジョン・ロードは第1期ディープ・パープルの世界観を受け継ぐようなソロ・アルバムを制作する。本作はフィルハーモニア・フンガリカというオーケストラと共演。ポリスのアンディ・サマーズ(G)、前作に続きスペンサー・デイヴィス・グループのピート・ヨーク(DS)、イアン・ギラン・バンドのマーク・ナウシーフ(PERCUSSION)も参加している。紙ジャケット(英オリジナル盤復刻予定)、SHM-CD仕様。
