i felt this running wild effort from last year was a bit better but running wild still do not pack the punch they had in the 80s & 90s i still feel, this is a great sounding japan cd, also this is the best running wild cd in a couple of decades i must say, love the classic guitar work here, its very typical running wild if you have been a fan for decades like i have, hard to belive i have been a fan now for almost 39 years..........STILL DRUM MACHINE used here..

ハロウィンを筆頭とするジャーマン・メタル黄金時代に人気を博し、現在も活動を続けるランニング・ワイルドの5年ぶり(日本盤リリースは8年ぶり)となるニュー・アルバム。現在のメンバーはロックン・ロルフ(Vo, G)、ピーター・ヨルダン(G, フェア・ウォーニングのサポート・ギターで来日経験がある)、オーレ・ヘンペルマン(B, 元サンダーヘッド)、マイケル・ウォルパース(Ds, 元ソウル・ドクター)という布陣。海賊のイメージで奏でられる勇猛果敢でストレート、しかしキャッチーでメロディックなパワー・メタル・サウンドに変化なし。長らく新譜を購入していなかった往年のファンも振り向かせる力のある作品。本作についてロックン・ロルフは「ロックダウンで時間的な余裕が生まれ、その時間を使い新作の細部を微調整した結果、ランニング・ワイルドの最高傑作になったと思う。10曲のどれもが作曲した時に考えていた通りのサウンドになり、ランニング・ワイルドのアルバムにこれほど満足したことはない」と語る。ボーナス・トラックはいずれも2019年発表のEP『クロッシング・ザ・ブレイズ』(日本未発売)収録曲。そのうち「ストラッター」はキッスのカヴァー。
