Director Sergio Corbucci once again teamed up with Franco Nero on this excellent Spaghetti-Zapata western which is a sub-genre of European westerns set against the backdrop of Mexican Revolution. Thomas Milian (recently demonstrated he's still in good form on Soderbergh's "Traffic" playing a corrupt general) and Jack Palance ("Shane", "City Slickers") co-star. Milian did several films with Corbucci, and Palance had previously made "Il Mercenario" with Corbucci. Nero plays an inscrutable Swedish arms dealer in this one where he looks and acts completely differently from his turn as the title hero of "Django", another Corbucci classic.
