The Beatles -- Their Shocking Debut Album! Originally released in March 1963, this legendary debut album includes mostly songs recorded during a single-day session on February 11, with the exception of four tracks that had already been released as singles. Remarkably, about one-third of the master tapes from that historic day have survived. For songs like "I Saw Her Standing There," "There's a Place," and "Misery," multiple recording takes still exist. Only a few of these takes were released as part of the 1995 Anthology project. The rest remain unreleased, kept in EMI's tape archives and inaccessible to the public unless found on unofficial bootlegs. This CD allows listeners to hear the actual recording process, showcasing how these songs were gradually refined through multiple takes. The main disc features all tracks from the original album in order, using alternate mixes and different sources.
