社会現象を巻き起こし、今なお世界中で愛され続けている「美少女戦士セーラームーン」のセカンドシーズンが待望のブルーレイで登場!! 「幻の銀水晶」の力で奇跡の転生を遂げたうさぎたちだが平穏な中学生活も束の間、新たな敵の出現を前に再びセーラー戦士として戦うのだった。「美少女戦士セーラームーンR」はアニメオリジナルの第47～59話〈魔界樹編〉と、謎めいた女の子・ちびうさを軸とする原作に準拠した第60～89話〈ブラック・ムーン編〉の2部から構成。主人公・月野うさぎの遠い過去をたどったファーストシーズンに対して、本シリーズは30世紀の未来=クリスタル・トーキョーを舞台に緊迫の攻防が繰り広げられる。同時に「時空の扉」の番人たる第六の戦士・セーラープルート、うさぎと衛の未来の姿であるネオ・クイーン・セレニティとキング・エンディミオンなど、魅力的な新キャラクターたちが物語を彩ってゆく。第60話からは、シリーズディレクターが佐藤順一から幾原邦彦へとバトンタッチし、新メイクアップシーンや必殺技など新たなビジュアルが描き出された。1993年3月-1994年3月テレビ朝日系にて放送。VOL.2は、第69話～第89話を収録。エピソードガイド封入。※本編映像は、SD素材を元にアップコンバートしHD化作業を行ったものです。※今作品では、キュー・テックの「FORS MASTER PROCESS」テクノロジーを使用し、高画質アップコンバート、及び高品位な音声エンコードに対応いたしました。その後、更にフィルムゴミや傷などをリマスター修正したものが今回のBD映像となります。
