伝説の"レゲエ映画の金字塔"が製作から40周年の時を超え、鮮やかに蘇る!! レゲエという音楽とジャマイカ社会の現実を赤裸々に描き、1970年代初頭のジャマイカの姿をありのままに映した1972年製作の映画『ハーダー・ゼイ・カム』。ジャマイカの貧しい農村から、スターの座を夢見て大都市に出てきた青年をレゲエミュージシャンのジミー・クリフが演じ、レゲエ映画の金字塔となった。ジミー・クリフは当時24歳で本作の主演に抜擢、音楽も担当し、主題歌含めサウンドトラック盤も大ヒットを記録。製作・監督・脚本は、本作がデビュー作となったペリー・ヘンゼル。共同脚本は『ONE LOVE ワン・ラブ』のトレヴァー・ローヌ。製作総指揮には、ボブ・マーリーを発掘したアイランド・レコードの創業者クリス・ブラックウェルが名を連ねている。――1970年代初頭のジャマイカ、スター歌手を夢見て貧しい農村から大都市キングストンにやって来たアイヴァン(ジミー・クリフ)。運よくレコーディングの機会を得て自作曲「ハーダー・ゼイ・カム」を吹き込むも、収入にならず彼は犯罪組織に加わってしまう。やがてお尋ね者になった彼の曲はヒットを記録し、人気を博すのだが・・・。解説リーフレット封入。
