The latest theatrical installment based on Yoshiyuki Tomino's immortal robot show is a duology of movies with a total running time of 4 hours and 20 minutes, edited down from the 50 Turn A Gundam episodes - which started airing in April 1999 in Japan - with some animations redone, and with over 60 minutes of newly produced cuts edited in. Both movies premiered in early 2002 in Japan. Also available on VHS.
